Description

Registration for this course is now CLOSED.

Games are a natural and effective way for young students to learn mathematics. By playing with quantity, shape, and numerical models, students build a robust understanding of mathematical concepts while having a fantastic time. In this mini-course, we’ll explore how to make Play The Engine of Learning by investigating what makes a great game, how to use them in the classroom to best effect, and what & how students learn as they play. We’ll also share some of favorites games you can play with standard classroom materials, and some of the thinking that went into designing Tiny Polka Dot, the hit game for 3 – 8 year olds.  To see all the details about what’s included in the course go HERE.

This course will be two hours of instruction delivered in one session on February 19. If you are unable to attend the live session, the recording will be emailed to all enrolled participants.
