Understand the 3 Parts to Fluency
Fluency in math isn't just about being fast and accurate. There is a missing piece to our fluency instruction and through the trainings you will learn what that missing piece is and how to do it in your classroom.
Learn the pillars of The Flexibility Formula
The Flexibility Formula are the pillars of math instruction that help us be able to build students' flexibility with mathematics.
Investigate how to use the pillars to build your
students' fluency
You may know that timed tests and worksheets are not the best to help your students achieve fluency, but what do you do instead? Throughout the trainings you will receive with your guide, I'll share ways to assess without timed tests and what kinds of activities to use in your classroom that help kids achieve true fluency (not just memorization).

Maybe you've been focusing on building fluency for your students, but it just doesn't seem to be working.
Or maybe you're starting to plan ahead to when you get your students back in the classroom and want to have a solid place to start.
Either way, the Step-by-Step Guide, and the online trainings that go with it, will give you the information you need to feel confident that the activities and experiences you are providing your students are working to build their fluency.
We all want kids to be fluent in math, but how we get them there is where people vary in opinion.
My belief (that is backed by research) is that kids need to build an understanding of numbers and of the mathematics, not be asked to memorize facts and regurgitate procedures without understanding.
